AKTV8 LLC has an opening for the position of Product Technical Lead (Ref# PTL118AE).
Work Location: 50660 Century Ct., Wixom, MI 48393. Position may telecommute/work remotely 1-2 days per week.
Job Duties: Exercise technical responsibility during the planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of automotive engineering projects for embedded module production programs. Develop integrated control system for air suspension for commercial vehicles and RV North American customers, ensuring communication and coordination of activities with customers, customer team members, and central functions. Develop customer-oriented cost-efficient concepts for next-generation customer projects in North America. Responsible for planning and development process from kickoff activities, specifications review, product concept, prototypes build A-sample, B-sample, C-sample, design checks, and design and process failure modes and effects analysis (DFMEA/PFMEA), up to production ramp-up. Develop and maintain schedules for all integrated control system for air suspension programs. Review product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications. Act as major contact to customer concerning engineering issues. Support quoting new business opportunities. Perform technical analysis of risks and errors, such as DFMEA, problems and impacts of changes, preparation of proposals, and implementation of technical changes. Plan and implement engineering programs, activities, and milestones, per customer requirements. Responsible for the development and implementation of changes and change control management. Coordinate and create deliverables for bid packages regarding engineering (including BOM creation, product sizing, fit and form evaluation). Execute technical studies, product design, preparation of specifications and technical plans, and product testing. Coordinate activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems.
Requirements: This position requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign academic equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Systems, or a related field. Plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or 5 years in a related occupation including Project Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Vehicle Engineer, or related experience. Position requires 3 years of experience as a technical project leader. 40hrs/week.
